GOMA DESIGN RESIDENCY

2015

Through my studies at QUT I was given the opportunity to complete a Summer Residency at GOMA during the final stages of preparations for the Asia Pacific Art Terrenial [APT8]. This experience was incredibly informative and presented vast learning opportunities in the field of exhibition design and project management. I participated in a variety of activities and worked alongside international artist Asim Waqif, the GOMA workshop team as well as the exhibition design team. Tasks performed includes construction of exhibition joinery and installation, assisting with artist liaison, preparing materials for Asim Waqif's major installation as well as minor documentation. It was an incredible learning experience. Images presented here are selections from my reflective journal assessment document.

WITH GRATITUDE:

To Michael O'Sullivan and his design staff, for being very welcoming, professional and kind. And to Michael himself for allowing this QUT project to occur.
Thank you to Rafael Gomez and Michael Molloy for organising this experience, and thank you to the GOMA workshop who were lovely, professional and always willing to help.
